There are lots of differences between NYC & Cali, but the ones that i find most intresting are the most subtle. If yah wana order a pizza here? You say ” Hey Boss, i needa medium pie to go!” and when you buy a Gatorade or Snapple from the corner store the clerk ALWAYS hands you a bag and a straw. The whole straw thing still kinda confuses me. Oh and count on being cut infront of inline by 3 people, every time. Another thing that is pretty weird is how there isnt such thing as J-Walking . Not even on a busy street with cars driving through… Even the police officers dodge cars to make it to the doughnut shop. Sometimes i find myself so used to walking out in the middle of the street, I catch myself crossing without even checking for cars. And if you have ever been here you know the drivers wont slow down. I needa pay more attention Or else pay the Ultimate price.

I got home from a snowy evening in Bucktown and decided a warm shower would ease my bones before some rest. As i began to pull back the shower curtain a vivid picture popped into my head of my roommate lying dead in the tub. My 1st Instinct was to go grab my sketchpad. My imagination has been running wild latley, mostly full of macabre action sequences. Pedestrians being hit by cars, falling into train tracks, corner store massacres .etc. etc. I think its only on my mind because its true to what happens in my Neighborhood on a day to day basis. I pray that my eyes never be laid on such awful sights.
